Description:

EXCITING OPPORTUNITY FOR AN ASSISTANT MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT

We are looking for an ambitious and detail-oriented Assistant Management Accountant to join our finance team in Peterborough. This role offers an exciting opportunity to support various financial transactions and reporting tasks, while playing a key role in cost budget management. If you are part-qualified (AAT L3 / CIMA) and eager to complete your professional qualification, with financial and training support, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to advance your career in finance.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Cost Budgets: Conduct monthly reviews with cost centre owners to assess results, risks, and opportunities against budgets. Produce key reports to help the business understand variances in month-end results, and take ownership of overhead forecasts as part of the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Support Project Controller: Assist with WIP management, including weekly labour transaction reviews, timesheet data analysis, and updating and reconciling material and stock transactions.
  • Assist Accounts Receivable: Issue sales invoices, handle credit note requests, raise order acknowledgements, post daily cash receipts, and follow up with customers on payments.
  • Support Accounts Payable: Process purchase invoices with 3-way matching against GRN and PO, resolve invoicing discrepancies, and raise payments in the banking system.
  • Reconcile Balance Sheets: Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations and produce month-end journals for review and upload into the accounting system.
  • Contribute to Monthly Management Accounts: Support the production of monthly management accounts, including deliverables into the Group consolidation system, and work with the Financial Controller on budgeting and forecasting.
