The remote Title 1 funded position for Assistant Manager, 504 Program develops and implements policies and procedures and oversees all matters related to the 504 programs for the school. The role also assists the Manager, 504 Program with developing and implementing general academic policies and procedures and with school operations as they relate to 504 programs.

This is a REMOTE full-time position. Ability to work independently, typically 40+ hours per week is required. Ability to maintain a professional home office without distraction during workday, typically 9-5 (or 8-4) or as defined by the school.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.

  • Develop, implement, and disseminate “best practices” for 504 policies and procedures in collaboration with school leadership.
  • Support the school’s administration and teachers in providing training on and implementation of 504 program and services.
  • Create and maintain appropriate contacts with district(s), to ensure continued compliance of 504 programs.
  • Collaborate in the development, compliance, maintenance, and implementation of all 504 processes and procedures.
  • Work with the Testing Team to ensure that all students receive appropriate accommodations during state testing.
  • Work with K12 enrollment team to develop processes for ensuring timely identification and enrollment of students with 504 needs.
  • Ensure that 504 students are integrated in all school activities and that general education and administrative staff work collaboratively to ensure academic success for all students.
  • Collect data for internal studies of 504.
  • Work directly with parents and students where necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 20-30 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master’s degree in Education or related field of study
  • Three (3) years of progressive 504 experience
  • Two (2) years of successful experience mentoring/supervising/developing others
  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint; high level of general Web proficiency
  • Ability to travel 20% of the time
  • Ability to clear required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Texas Principal Certificate
  • Prior formal supervisory/management experience
  • T-TESS Certification
