Description:
Vines & Rebar Construction Management (part of Mark Anthony Group) is a total and general contractor specializing in high end hospitality projects in the Okanagan Valley. Our finance team works very closely and collaboratively together to support our construction management company and our collection of Okanagan wineries. We are looking for an experienced Assistant Manager, Accounting to join our team in Kelowna, BC.
ACCOUNTABILITIES & IMPACT:
- Timely preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and month-end close procedures
- Assist with building out annual operating budgets
- Drive continuous improvement in the accounting function and billing/accounting systems and create SOPs for key processes
- Support capital expenditure, including reporting & reconciliation
- Oversee all invoicing and receivables for third party billing
- Monitor project costs against budgets and explain variances through improved reporting
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES NEEDED:
- Completed bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or a related field
- Minimum of 5 years in a Senior Accountant role with strong full-cycle accounting experience
- Experience with accounting systems
- Intermediate to advanced excel
- Preferred experience in construction industry

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Accounting Manager, and as a member of the finance team, your primary responsibilities will include providing accurate financial reporting, analysis and support to various business functions, with a primary focus on the construction management business. As the primary accounting partner for our construction business, you will work closely with the Director and General Manager, and will play a pivotal role in developing the accounting operations function.
