Description:

BDO Ireland have an opening for an Assistant Manager position in BDO Ireland’s Corporate Investment and Business Advisory (CIBA) Division. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the department’s Managers and Partner.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in generating leads for potential investment targets.
  • Draft and negotiate Investment Term Sheets.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on prospective investee companies to evaluate their viability for investment.
  • Prepare investment proposals and projections for investment purposes.
  • Present investment opportunities to the Board of the Fund Manager for approval.
  • Conduct detailed financial reviews of investee companies’ trading and financial performance, comparing them to projected performance.
  • Collaborate and communicate with legal experts and tax authorities regarding investment completions and ongoing matters.
  • Continuously monitor investee companies and support the implementation of recommendations as necessary.
  • Manage exit strategies.
  • Ensure timely completion of assignments as per agreed timeframes.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Background in Transaction Services is advantageous.
  • Professional Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA).
  • Outstanding academic record.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including report writing.
  • Advanced skills in Excel, Word, and Microsoft Office.

    • Due diligence experience is advantageous.
  • Demonstrable track record in venture capital, private equity, transaction services, corporate finance, or investment banking.
  • Ability to cover the entire investment cycle, from deal sourcing to analysis, structuring, negotiations, completion, and post-investment monitoring.
  • Ability to strategically collaborate with management to optimize business value and achieve premium returns upon exit.
  • Proficiency in managing a portfolio of SME/growth capital investments, combining operational, financial, and relationship skills.
  • Strong commercial, negotiation, and organizational abilities.
  • Driven and enthusiastic with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
