SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager, Projects & Corporate Development position will be responsible for supporting the project and corporate development activities for all business departments at GLOVIS America, Inc. The position will assist in managing all projects, development and studies to include negotiation, implementation, purchasing of goods and services for the organization. Duties include but are not limited to participating in the review of vendor rates, market studies, and coordinating multi-departmental projects.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required
  • Strong negotiations, procurement, and conflict resolution skills preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate and drive actions with cross-functional groups required
  • Proficient PC skills - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, database management systems required
  • Working knowledge of industry and market conditions, and carrier operations businesses preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and to adjust to meet business needs required
  • Individual must be a self-starter with ability to work with limited direction
  • Working knowledge of contract management practices, tracking and managing data, contracts, and timelines required

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Associate’s Degree Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
  • 6- 9Years of Experience in SupplyManagement, Logistics, and Project Management Required
  • 7 - 11 Years Preferred
  • 2 Years of Indirect Experience Required
  • 4 Years Preferred
  • 1 - 3 Years of Supervisory Experience Required
  • 4 - 7 Years Preferred

Responsibilities:

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supplier Management and support all department procurement & projects with supply chain and its processes
  • Support the development and implementation plans to optimize our logistic network, reduce costs, and/or improve efficiency
  • Identify areas of optimization in logistics and supply chain management, and develop solutions to address them
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and coordination of logistics and supply chain activities
  • Assist in negotiations of deal terms, presentations for for executives, prepare approval documents (business plan, volume forecast, internal/external reports that support the projects)
  • Assist in drafting deal documents such as NDA’s, LOI’s, SOW, and service/sales agreements
  • Monitor and report on project progress to key stakeholders
  • Analyze proposals and opportunities
  • Select optimum suppliers, favorable cost/pricing terms and ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Lead and/or support the development and execution of negotiation plans
  • Provide regular updates to Senior Management, Business Development, Finance, Legal, internal consumers and execute approvals for Glovis leadership
  • Drive increased procurement planning, control and accountability with the business groups
  • Proposal Development and Support
  • Support the Procurement organization as needed and support management requests for information, analyses and insights
  • Support other projects as needed
