Description:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Previous experience as an Assistant Manager or in a supervisory role within a restaurant environment (bonus points if you’re familiar with fast-casual dining).
  • Passion for great food, especially sushi!
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Top-notch communication skills and a knack for customer service.
  • Ability to think on your feet and adapt to fast-paced situations.
  • Understanding of stock management, scheduling, and restaurant operations.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

As the Assistant Manager, you’ll be the right-hand person to the General Manager, helping lead the team, roll with the punches, and keep operations as smooth as our sushi rice. This role is all about making sure customers leave with a smile, staff feel supported, and everything runs like a well-oiled soy sauce bottle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be the GM’s go-to person for all things restaurant management—think of yourself as the secret ingredient that makes it all work.
  • Lead by example, rolling up your sleeves (and sushi) when needed, while ensuring that service standards are always top-notch.
  • Handle day-to-day operational duties, including scheduling, stock management, and opening/closing procedures.
  • Keep a finger on the pulse of the floor, making sure customers are getting the best experience (and always leave feeling like VIPs).
  • Motivate the team and keep energy levels high, even during the busiest times.
  • Dive into some basic HR duties—training new team members, conducting performance reviews, and making sure everyone’s on the same page.
  • Ensure food hygiene standards are on point, from prep to presentation.
  • Be a problem solver, addressing customer queries and resolving any hiccups before they turn into big rolls.
