    YHA Blue Mountains is a 240-bed property located in the heart of Katoomba. Providing mountain stays for domestic and international travellers as well as large groups; this historical property offers large communal facilities, a co-working space, large group and event space, and a large selection of private and shared accommodation rooms. Breakfast is served daily, and the property also provides catering to groups and meeting attendees. There is currently a small, hardworking team of 12 delivering memorable experiences for guests, and it is with excitement that we recruit an Assistant Manager to join in leading this team.

Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE:

This is a hands- on role, where leaders lead from the front and work across reception, housekeeping, and food & beverage. With development opportunities locally and across Australia, this role is the perfect next step for a dynamic and motivated Duty or Shift Manager looking for the next step in their hospitality career. RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assisting the Property Manager in all aspects of property operations, and assuming responsibility for the property in the absence of the Property Manager.
  • Provide hands- on leadership to front office operations by handling guest queries and feedback, ensuring system accuracy and efficiency, selling YHA products, and working to ensure the team is always providing excellent customer service.
  • Leading housekeeping, cleaning, and maintenance operations; delivering the highest levels of cleanliness and condition of facilities across rooms and public areas and ensuring appropriate par levels and supply usage.
  • Ensuring high quality food & beverage products are served safely, efficiently and offer good value for money whilst managing costs.
  • Providing leadership, guidance and coaching for all team members, with a focus on efficient and effective onboarding, development and training.
  • Supporting the Property Manager with the achievement of revenue targets and managing wage and other expenses.
  • Suggesting ideas for business improvements and leading the way in team collaboration and efficient communication.
  • Assist in the planning and execution of guest activities.
  • Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety, and YHA Quality guidelines at all times.
  • Be an ambassador for the YHA brand; consistently delivering exceptional experiences for all stakeholders.
