About the role
The position is responsible for delivering comprehensive HR support and guidance to the consumer retail function, ensuring alignment with the overall HR strategy and business objectives. This role demands a robust understanding of HR best practices and labor laws, coupled with extensive experience in managing HR functions within a logistics or supply chain environment. The successful candidate will work closely with consumer retail management to implement HR initiatives, handle employee relations, and promote a cohesive work environment that supports organizational goals.

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the retail team to align with their business objectives and deliver strategic human resources support.
  • Execute HR initiatives and programs to bolster the team in domains such as performance management, employee relations, and talent development.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR-related inquiries, offering guidance to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures.
  • Partner with the HR team to ensure uniformity in HR practices and adherence to company policies and legal standards.
  • Facilitate regular training sessions for managers and employees on HR topics, including performance management, conflict resolution, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Analyse HR metrics and trends to pinpoint areas for improvement and implement actionable solutions.
  • Manage employee relations issues, conduct investigations, and oversee disciplinary actions in conjunction with the HR team and management.

People Management

  • The successful candidate will demonstrate expertise in navigating complex interpersonal dynamics and providing effective solutions to maintain a positive work environment.
  • You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, ensuring alignment and adherence to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and company policies.
  • Additionally, you will offer accurate and timely advisory services across all people-related processes and actions, supporting managers and employees in achieving organizational objectives while fostering a culture of respect and compliance.

Functional/Technical Competencies:

  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and the MS Office suite, enabling efficient management of HR functions and processes.
  • Experience in analyzing HR data and metrics to drive decision-making is essential, as this role involves leveraging data insights to inform strategic HR initiatives.
  • A strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations is crucial to ensure compliance and the implementation of effective HR strategies.
  • This combination of technical and functional competencies will support the delivery of high-quality HR services and contribute to the achievement of business objectives within the consumer retail function.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 7+ years of HR experience, with at least 3 years in a supervisor/lead HR role.
  • Experience within consumer retail/FMCG environment is a mandate.
  • Experience in working with Senior management stakeholders.
  • Master’s degree and/or HR certification preferred.
  • Excellent in English communication (written, and spoken)
  • Additionally preferrable (Arabic or Hindi/Urdu.
