The Turnaround, Restructuring & Special Situations team provides independent financial turnaround and strategic advice to a range of stakeholders facing stressed and distressed situations within the UK and globally through the Firm’s global network.
The Turnaround, Restructuring & Special Situations team sits within Corporate Finance and alongside Debt and Capital Advisory, a team of 150 Deloitte professionals, making it one of the largest Corporate Finance teams operating in the UK market.
The team guides companies and their stakeholders through periods of uncertainty and stress, helping to solve the most complex and critical challenges. We are focused on creating value whether that is through targeted performance improvements, financial restructuring, or providing options to recover value.
We are seeking to expand with the recruitment of highly talented and motivated individuals with relevant experience to help grow our team. We are looking for individuals with a background in financial restructuring, M&A transactions or corporate finance advisory with an interest in helping businesses in stressed or distressed situations.

Your role within this growing, high-performance and fast-paced team is to advise clients in stressed and distressed situations to support their financial turnaround strategy. You will work on a wide range of turnaround engagements including advising on company business reviews, performance improvements, lender negotiations and optimising capital structures. It will also include working alongside specialists within the Deloitte network on negotiating new money fundraisings, refinancing and restructuring existing debt facilities.
We operate across all sectors and we are currently looking for Managers to join the team.
As an Assistant Manager / Manager in the Turnaround, Restructuring & Special Situations team, you will be:
- Working on a range of advisory projects with regular interaction with clients, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, advisors and other service lines within Deloitte;
- Supporting the day to day management of restructuring processes, including the preparation of business reviews, information packs, management presentations and financial analysis;
- Financial modelling, including analysing business forecasts, evaluating scenario analysis and covenant calculations;
- Liaising with a variety of stakeholders with varied objectives;
- Supporting the team on various initiatives across client engagements and business development;
- Contribution to marketing and business development activities;
- Performing industry/company research for both deal origination and transaction analysis;
- Supporting the team with their compliance and risk management responsibilities;
- Supporting the team as it continues to build a strong network across the various parties that are involved in transactions (e.g. PE houses, banks, private credit funds, lawyers, advisors and other service lines within Deloitte);
- Managing and helping to train junior members of the team; and
- Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate:
- ACA qualification (or equivalent) is desirable;
- Excellent numeracy skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to absorb and analyse large amounts of data quickly;
- Ability to undertake detailed financial/commercial analysis for inclusion in presentations and client reports;
- Excellent report writing skills;
- A commitment to delivering an exceptional service to clients, with ability to work quickly and establish effective working relationships;
- Agility to work on multiple internal and external initiatives simultaneously;
- Initiative to take on new challenges, within a supportive environment;
- Logical and methodical approach to problem solving;
- Proven project management and organisational skills;
- Excellent interpersonal skills;
