We are looking for an Assistant Operations Manager to join our team to lead the operational teams in the Fertiliser Terminal’s this incorporates Immingham Bulk park and all bagging and forwarding operations.
ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Accountable for the management and development of a high performing, safety and productivity driven team made up of six Assistant Operations Managers.
- Responsible for weighbridge operators and up to 50 operatives plus agency staff who support workload demands above the core.
- Accountable for ensuring that all operations are planned, managed and executed in a safe, efficient and productive manner.
- Accountable for implementing and driving a sustainable health and safety and process safety focused culture.
- Accountable for the management and development of the operations team
- Ensures and improves the terminal’s general housekeeping standards are to the highest level.
- Responsible for leading and overseeing the day-to-day resolution of operational problems, including the development of long-term solutions, and contributing towards the implementation of Continuous Improvement and lean strategies across the operation.
- Meets and where possible exceed contractual service level agreements for all Immingham Fertiliser customers.
- Attends out-of-hour calls as required.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCES, QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES
- A full UK Driving license
- Strong and flexible communication skills to ensure the messages are understood by all
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to establish a strong relationship with senior managers, customers and external stakeholders.
- Experience of operating in a unionised environment would be highly beneficial although not essential.
- Proven ability in effectively managing, motivating, and developing teams (directly and indirectly employed workers), instilling skills and confidence.
- Previous experience of managing budgets and maximising operational efficiencies.
- Proven experience in managing competing demands e.g. day-to-day operations alongside specific projects.
- Proven focus on customer management.
- Experience of change management and business analytics - continuously reviewing and improving
