EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Food Science, Dairy Science or related field preferred
• 5 years experience in industrial food packaging - dairy or cheese packaging a plus
• 3-5 years experience in a management/supervisory role

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE

• Food industry technology and packaging processes, quality, food safety, and health and safety
• Food production sanitation practices
• Organizational tools and methods
• Process flow management
• Collective line and non-line management
• Computer/office systems

• Assist in managing the packaging department’s work
• Conduct interviews when necessary
• Lead a team: delegate, instill a sense of responsibility, set targets, communicate instructions, control and listen
• Provide reports to management
• Apply well-defined standards in costs and budgets
• Record efficiency data
• Analyze and evaluate packaging parameters and implement corrective actions
• Propose technical and organizational improvements to management
• Monitors packaging material and their inventories
• Plan and schedule employees consistent with volume requirements
• Apply safety rules and ensure they are implemented and followed
• Apply and enforce all quality programs
• Participate and recommend solutions to common quality issues
• Take action to continuously improve his/her process targets
