Description:
COSTCO PHARMACY IN WINNIPEG, MANITOBA IS HIRING AN ASSISTANT PHARMACY MANAGER.
Daily tasks and responsibilities:
-Assist pharmacy manager with the department schedule. Develop, counsel, train and direct department staff. Make recommendations for hiring, promotion and termination to pharmacy manager and warehouse manager.
-Observe employee performance and check paperwork to ensure that proper department production, record keeping, and product storage procedures and standards are followed.
-Assist with drafting and participate in presentation of employee performance evaluations.
-Act as pharmacist-in-charge (point of contact for regulatory, legal, third-party insurance companies and audit situations).
Monitor pharmacy operations to ensure complete legal compliance.
-Report all prescription incidents in a timely manner and properly manage incidents that do occur.
-Review insurance payment records. Maintain accurate record of third-party payments. Assist in productivity development and
implementation plans.
-Consistently implement activities on routine task list.
-Communicate with regional pharmacy operations manager and pharmacy team at Central Office as required.
-Assist pharmacy manager to review and submit orders for supplies and to ensure proper maintenance and repairs of pharmacy department and fixed assets.
-Oversee and participate in dispensing prescription medications: measure, label and check for drug interactions, verifying with physicians, and select substitutions when necessary. Assist with counter duties and merchandising as necessary.
-Oversee the merchandizing of the OTC section with the pharmacy manager.
-Provide and ensure prompt and courteous customer service. Counsel customers on proper medication usage.
-Respond to customer concerns using problem-solving skills, tact and discretion. Preserve customer confidentiality.
-Assist with the supervision and preparation for semi-annual physical inventory and post-audit corrections, and help provide inventory results.
-Provide direct patient care and participate in medication reviews. Practice to the full extent of the scope of practice in their respective province.
-Maintain professional competence by participating in a variety of continuing education initiatives and maintain required certifications in good standing.
-Implement and uphold safety and security procedures.
-This is a full-time management/leadership position.
Qualifications:
-Completion of a Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution is required
-Must be a licensed pharmacist in good standing in Manitoba
-Applicants with management experience will be given preference over other candidates
-Strong communication skills required
-Knowledge of Kroll software (or other computer/data entry skills) is an asset
