Reporting to the Manager, Programs and under the direct supervision of the Pool Supervisor, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the Pool Supervisor with the maintenance and operations of the facility. They are primarily responsible for program planning and supervision of programs and staff. This includes scheduling, promoting, evaluating and quality control of all aquatic recreational activities and programs as well as assisting with supervising building maintenance. The work includes instructing programs, guarding, employee training and providing direction to on-duty staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The position requires that the individual have a Grade 12 diploma and a minimum of four years of aquatic experience. The incumbent must possess the ability to work independently and have strong interpersonal skills.

The following awards/certifications are required and must be maintained current while employed:

  • Intermediate First Aid & CPR/AED Level C
  • National Lifeguard Certification
  • Lifesaving Society Swim Instructor
  • Lifesaving Instructor
  • Pool Operators Level 1
  • Aquafit Certification

The incumbent must have one of the following advanced leadership certifications:

  • NL Instructor Trainer
  • Lifesaving Instructor Trainer
  • Standard First Aid Instructor

This position has a salary range of $75,447 - $92,545, and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including housing and vacation travel allowance totalling $450 a month, a defined benefit pension plan, and relocation assistance.
