Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Production Engineering Section to meet productivity, quality, and customer satisfaction targets, aligning with management’s goals for profitability and reduced lead times.
  • Direct and manage the investigation and resolution of production problems, leading corrective actions.
  • Provide expertise and guidance to the Machinery and Assembly Production Section on best practices, enhancing methods, tools, and procedures for sheet metal fabrication, machining, assembly, and testing.
  • Advise the Production Engineering Section on project and operational matters.
  • Lead the adoption of new technologies, digitalization, and automation to improve production quality, efficiency, and energy usage, establishing the Singapore factory as a benchmark for machine and tooling production.
  • Plan and oversee investments in new machinery and equipment to boost capabilities, increase capacity, and modernize logistics automation.
  • Guide and refine methodologies, tools, and procedures for launching new models in machining, assembly, and testing.
  • Control and reduce production costs to enhance profitability.
  • Act as the technical liaison with Japan HQ on engineering matters.
  • Prepare and submit reports in Japanese to Japan HQ.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field with at least 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Extensive experience in the machine tools industry, particularly in machining centers and lathe technology.
  • Possess exposure of metal cutting and machine tool operations in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience with Total Quality Management and Change Management.
  • In-depth knowledge of lean manufacturing and other quality/process improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD, SolidWorks, and similar software.
  • Familiar with electrical and mechanical drawings, PLCs, and related areas.
  • Proficient in Japanese at JLPT N1 level or equivalent for written and conversational skills, including engineering terminology, to communicate with Japan Headquarters.
  • Willingness to work extended hours based on task commitments and project deadlines.Location: West
