JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be an organized, forward thinking, process-minded individual, with strong leadership skills, and a focus on effective operation management skills. Working with other teams in the facility, the main focus of this role is executing process, safe operating procedures, decrease waste and day-to-day management of the largest team in our facility.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5yrs Production Supervisor experience in a food processing, food manufacturing industry
  • Previous experience working with HACCP and GFSI (SQF or BRC) equipment
  • Attention to detail
  • Must think quickly on feet and handle stress well
  • Must be an excellent communicator - both written and verbal
  • Must be able to troubleshoot discrepancies and explain and a clear and easy to understand way
  • Must be a leader and drive enforcement of policies
  • Must have strong computer skills, time management and be technologically inclined
  • Change management and business development skills
  • Language of work is English (required)

Responsibilities:

GENERAL DUTIES:

The Assistant Production Supervisor ensures all operations employees are effectively managed, trained, safe and enforce company internal policies, as well as certification and legal safety compliance. The Assistant Production Supervisor reports directly to the Production Manager.

OTHER DUTIES AS REQUIRED

Teamwork and leadership

  • Approves or denies any employee initiated time off requests
  • Responsible for overseeing labour trends, performance management while working alongside management when required
  • Leads by example for all safety standards, compliance measures, respect in the workplace and food safety
  • Train new hires on new and legacy initiatives to effectively run operations
  • Document all training records
  • Lead, train and motivate team to enhance productivity and performance
  • Provides hands-on leadership to the production team
  • Work alongside other department heads to conduct root analysis for mechanical issues, staffing and labour issues, occupational health and safety, food safety, logistics errors for the collective goal of eliminating downtime
  • Participates in the ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies
  • Responsible for ensuring department adheres to all safe operating procedures as well as hiring and training outlines
  • Helps establish KPI’s for department
