Description:
The Department of Ethnic Studies invites applications for the tenure-track position of Assistant Professor of Ethnic Studies with a specialization in Asian American & Pacific Islander Studies beginning in the Fall 2025. Candidates should have expertise in the transnational Asian Diaspora that emphasizes popular culture and political movements.
Our teacher-scholar model includes a 3-3 teaching load. Successful candidates should demonstrate the potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching. With the goals of supporting students from groups underrepresented in their disciplines and of building collaborative communities of interdisciplinary teacher-scholars, this hire, as well as other hires in the College of Arts and Sciences, will build upon cluster hires in the following areas: Climate Change and Environmental Justice, Borders and Social Justice, and Technology and the Human Experience. Candidates with a subspecialty or demonstrated interest in the topics will have the opportunity to join an interdisciplinary cohort with other scholars from across the College of Arts and Sciences.
