Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor (teaching), one-year limited term position in Finance in the Haskayne School of Business at the University of Calgary. The term may be renewed for a second year upon budgetary approval. The appointment start date is January 1, 2025.
The position requires evidence or promise of teaching effectiveness or competency in teaching and learning. An awareness of how to apply scholarly approaches to teaching & learning practices, participation in reflective practice, and professional learning activities related to teaching and learning would be an asset. Duties include teaching at the undergraduate (possibly also graduate) levels and some services related to students’ activities. Salary will depend on qualifications, experience, as well as teaching record.
Faculty in the Finance area at the Haskayne School of Business are engaged in a range of teaching, including MBA, Master of Management, and Master of Finance programs. We invite applications in any area of expertise within the broad finance, financial engineering, economics, and business domain.

Responsibilities:

  • Teaching core and/or elective undergraduate and graduate courses in finance, including both intro and senior finance elective courses;
  • Continuous professional development and contributions to the community of practice in teaching and learning;
  • Course delivery in both in person and online formats.
  • Teaching ‘eight’ regular (half-credit) courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels in the Haskayne School of Business.
