About the Team
The Project Services Team in the GSMA provides project management capabilities to deliver change initiatives across the mobile industry. Working in close partnership with subject matter experts within the GSMA and from across the mobile industry, the Project Services team manages a wide range of projects in all areas of the organisation, including Technology, Product Development, Marketing and Events, as well as internal facing projects in IT, Finance and HR.
As part of the project delivery, the Project Services team also provides change expertise to GSMA projects to guide the implementation of change initiatives within the organisation.
Project Services is the delivery engine for projects across the GSMA. As well as delivering projects to agreed cost, quality and timelines, the Project Services team maintains a strong focus on delivering benefits to our colleagues, our members and to the mobile industry.
About the Role
As an Associate Project Manager in the Project Services team, you will be part of the delivery of GSMA projects and provide project management support to the team delivering these projects. You will be asked to support other Senior PMs and PMs in some of our major projects and will also be managing smaller projects independently.
You will:
- Support Project Managers and Senior Project Managers with planning and co-ordinating project delivery, including the definition of project plans and milestones
- Manage projects according to our project processes, using agreed tools and templates
- Play an active role in ensuring good stakeholder communications from the project team
- Identify and pro-actively manage Project risks & issues; escalate where necessary
- Work with project team to track and report progress against project targets
- Plan, organise and run effective internal meetings and capture minutes
- Assist in developing and tracking budgets
- Assist in procurement processes
- Provide information and support to the Head of Project Services
- Work effectively alongside the Project Services PMO, to support best practice and maintain project management standard
The successful candidate will report into a Senior Project Manager.

Capabilities:
As an Associate Project Manager you will need the following skills:
- A good understanding of project management practices and processes including a working level understanding of Waterfall, Agile, or other delivery methods
- Experience of managing small projects or work streams
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Good attention to detail
- An ability to use a range of communications methods effectively, including email, instant messaging, telephone and face-to-face conversation
- Able to communicate complex messages in a simple manner
- An aptitude for stakeholder identification and management
- Networks well with new colleagues or those in other locations/departments
- Experience of working in an international and cross cultural environment would be beneficial
- A willingness and confidence to present in team meetings
- Good office IT skills, at least including Microsoft Office products, especially Outlook, Word and Excel
