Description:

An opportunity to work with in an integrated multi-disciplinary team offering a holistic approach to the management of the symptoms of Long Covid is just one of the many attractions this role provides. BLIS (The Berkshire Long Covid Integrated Service) is the assessment and treatment service for patients experiencing symptoms of Long Covid and was set up following joint working with our partners at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. We are looking to recruit a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist on a fixed term 1 year contract for 0.8 wte (30hrs) to work within the team.
You will be joining a developing service which is sensitive to both the needs of the patients and the emerging research of the relatively new diagnosis of Long Covid. The post holder will deliver a range of holistic individual and group interventions under the supervision of a qualified psychologist and alongside Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapists and an Occupational Therapist . The post-holder will be contributing to the work of the psychologists in the team, as well as other professionals in BLIS .
The post-holder is required , under the supervision of a Registered Practitioner Psychologist, to work directly with service users and carers to provide evidence-based psychological interventions.
The post-holder will co-ordinate and assist in the development and delivery of groups as the service requires, and will also be required to occasionally work individually with service users and their family/carers to deliver evidence-based psychological interventions.
The post-holder will work jointly with a registered practitioner psychologist, and offer training jointly to other team members/services to enable and support the delivery of psychologically informed care in relation to long covid.

Responsibilities:

An upper second class (2:1) honours degree or higher in psychology
Entitlement to graduate membership of British Psychological Society
Previous experience of working with people with long term health conditions and experiencing significant mental health needs.
Car driver with ability and readiness to travel to multiple sites if required and an a bility to work flexibly within an innovative service.
