Description:

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to work in the Brent Integrated Psychology and Psychotherapy Service as part of our acute psychology provision.
This is an exciting time for services as we implement new initiatives within our acute services which already have a good programme for implementing trauma-informed care.
You are advised to apply promptly, this vacancy will close once the required number of applications has been received. We anticipate a high number of applications for these posts, and will not be able to read long entries in the “Supporting Information” section. For our initial screening, we will read only the first TWELVE LINES of your “Supporting Information”, which must be laid out as detailed in the person specification.
The role involves supporting the acute Clinical Psychologists and the multidisciplinary teams in their work and delivering psychologically informed interventions, with a focus on short term, intensive work. Interventions will involve both individual and group work and some work will be community based. The role will also involve supporting the implementation of trauma-informed care within services. There will be opportunities for service related research and audit, as well as the chance to undertake some teaching and training for non-psychologist colleagues.
The position will suit an individual who is self-motivated, with excellent literacy and data skills. You will need to be highly motivated and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
Applicants will be expected to hold a BPS approved degree in Psychology (upper second or first class) and have experience of working in a mental health setting. It would be advantageous to have experience of working within community or acute settings.
The post holders will receive weekly supervision with a qualified psychologist. There are excellent opportunities for a breadth of clinical work as well as CPD.
The successful applicant may have contact with patients or service users. As an NHS Trust we strongly encourage and support vaccination as this remains the best way to protect yourself, your family, your colleagues and of course patients and service users when working on our healthcare settings.
