Description:

We provide assessment and diagnosis services to individuals across Dorset who are suffering with cognitive decline and memory problems, who may have a dementia. As an Assistant Psychologist you will support the clinical team in a community post offering high quality assessments in a number of areas including clinics or home visits across Poole, Bournemouth, Dorchester, Purbecks, Wimborne. Car driving is therefore essential and travelling expenses are paid.
With a base at Alderney Hospital in Poole, t he role involves some flexible working from home and equipment is provided.
Part-time work or job-sharing is not an option as the role needs consistency and being able to follow up the work done in the week.
This part time role is initially being offered as a fixed term post for 12 months. The service core hours are Monday to Friday 09:00 to 17:00.

We are looking for individuals who are reliable, dynamic, with exceptional organisational and written skills, able to work flexibly as part of a wider team. Experience in cognitive assessments would be advantageous and being able to give concise feedback to aid diagnoses being made accurately is essential.
The post-holder would be working alongside and be supervised by the neuropsychology team in the team and take part in key group therapeutic activities. It will provide you with the opportunity to gain experience in high quality memory assessments to aid timely diagnosis and treatment options.
This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
