Description:

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a suitably experienced individual to join a service offering psychosocial interventions to young people deemed to be at increased risk of developing psychosis.
Our ‘At-Risk Mental State’ (ARMS) service engages service users and their families with the aim of preventing or delaying their transition to psychosis. The post holder will work alongside the Principal Clinical Psychologist, Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, Community Mental Health Practitioner and Community Support Worker to provide specialist assessments, support the implementation of individual CBT and deliver both group CBT and family interventions across Northamptonshire.
We encourage applicants to tailor their applications to this post and service.
Anticipated start date is 23rd September 2024 - this is subject to successful completion of all pre-employment checks.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual who is able to work independently and would like to play a significant role in this
developing service. Whilst on-the-job training will be provided, applicants should demonstrate an interest in working with people with psychosis.
Experience of working with people who have complex presentations and experience of CBT-informed interventions would be advantageous.
You would receive regular supervision and would be offered opportunities to network with other psychologists and therapists working at NHFT, including internal CPD. We often host trainees from the Leicester and Oxford Doctoral training course and have a good relationship with local researchers in psychosis. The post holder would also have opportunities to undertake service evaluation and research within this innovative service.
Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust was rated as “Outstanding” by CQC in 2018 and is a great place to work. We are proud of the Psychology provision within the Trust, and feedback has consistently been that we have a well-developed Psychology network in the Trust which offers a strong sense of professional identity, support and strategic influence.
Psychology and psychological approaches are highly valued in the Trust, and psychologists have the opportunity to shape clinical and organisational strategy as well as provide clinical services. We believe that supporting and involving our staff means that they enjoy their work more, and that our clinical services are better as a result.
There are a significant number of psychologists employed within the Trust working across different specialties and there are excellent opportunities for professional development through regular monthly psychology meetings and active peer supervision networks.
We want our workforce to represent the diversity of the people and communities we work with. Studies show that people from minoritised ethnic groups and women are less likely to apply if they don’t meet every requirement. You could still be the right person for the job – if you’re excited about this role, we want to hear from you.
Northamptonshire is a pleasant area with a mix of rural and urban locations and is within easy distance of other key locations in the Midlands with excellent rail and road links.
We’re happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that you need to be successful. We do everything we can to accommodate flexible working, including compressed or part-time hours, job shares and other arrangements. Please let us know in your application or at any stage of the process if you would like to explore these options.
For further information on the advertised role, please refer to the job description located under the Supporting Documents heading. The full person specification can be accessed under the ‘About You’ Section of the document
