Description:

The Royal Shakespeare Company are looking to appoint Assistant Puppet Technicians for the upcoming production of My Neighbour Totoro at the Gillian Lynne Theatre, London.
This position is offered initially as a fixed term contract until March 2026, commencing on or around 13 January 2025.
As Assistant Puppet Technician you will, along with puppetry team, facilitate the smooth running of the show from a Puppetry perspective as well as ensuring that the show’s puppets are well maintained and show-ready, both throughout the rehearsal process and for the duration of the production.

To be suitable for this role, it is essential that you have the following skills and experience:

  • Experience in a senior Puppetry role working with variety of puppets in size and operation, in a live theatrical production.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining puppets to the initial creative’s design.
  • Experience of working with puppeteers in live theatre performance.
  • Supporting day-to-day operations alongside the head of department.

Rehearsals will take place in London, prior to the show transferring to the Gillian Lynne Theatre, London.
