POSITION SUMMARY

The Quality Assurance Assistant Manager takes direction from the QA/TS Manager and will work hands on with our engineering, product management, and marketing teams to test, deliver, and support gaming products in a manner that exceeds industry standards.
In this role the Assistant Manager will assist in quality assurance testing at all levels, including but not limited to test design, test execution, compliance testing, and paperwork. In addition, the Assistant Manager will be responsible for assisting with field support during business hours and as part of an on-call rotation, which will include creating and resolving tickets through email, phone calls, and on occasion site visits. The Assistant Manager will also be expected to assist with basic operation of the markets they are attached to. These responsibilities include but are not limited to game design planning, server maintenance, trade shows, and working with distributors to guarantee an ongoing healthy relationship.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in technology related field or at least three year’s relevant work experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year in a quality assurance role in software development and/or testing.
  • Minimum of 1 year working experience in software and hardware QA, the following systems are preferred: Debian, Ubuntu, and iPadOS.
  • Experience with various bug tracking software, writing test cases, test scripts and test plans.
  • Experience with test case management (Azure) software a plus.
  • Strong understanding of software QA methodologies and best practices (ISTQB).
  • Experience dealing with networking concepts and problems (routers, subnets, etc).
  • Experience working within web, desktop, service, embedded, and deployment applications.
  • Experience working in a front facing position, such as customer service or sales.

KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess knowledge of client/server and internet systems architectures.
  • Strong risk management skills and a knack for recognizing and anticipating things that would eventually turn into problems.
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to use data and metrics to back up assumptions, recommendations and drive actions.
  • Working knowledge of SQL Databases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Proficient in Debian based Linux systems and be able to navigate using command line.
  • Thrives in fast paced environments.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to take instructions and work independently to complete the task.

COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Employment dependent on successfully passing a regulatory background and credit check.
  • This role will also require a background check with the Minnesota Gambling Control Board.Employees may also be subject to additional periodic background checks as needed and/or required by Diamond Game and/or Diamond Game customers.

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist the Quality Assurance Manager and field operations by managing and determining priorities.
  • Provide technical support to the team by architecting testing solutions, helping to resolve technical problems and challenges, and establishing testing standards.
  • Lead testing efforts for key large initiatives.
  • Directing the team in meeting critical deadlines and provide statuses to upper management.
  • Proactively engage with all levels of staff and provide positive and constructive input in project meetings and discussions with development and project management.
  • Be hands-on and thoroughly involved with all test preparation and planning to ensure deadlines and budgets are in line with annual department goals.
  • Maintain long term customers through contact daily.
  • Monitor daily reports on server health and security.
  • Reply to inquiries in a timely matter.
  • Install operating systems such as Ubuntu, Debian, and iPadOS.
  • Must be able and willing to travel (sometimes last minute) to customer locations, certification labs and other locations requiring support in the US and Canada (about 5%).
