Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

Do you have experience of quality assurance within higher education and an interest in developing academic policies and regulations?
In the role of Assistant Registrar (Extended Learning), you will develop the university’s framework of academic policies and regulations that govern extended learning provision. Your work will support the university’s new Institute of Extended Learning and the successful design and delivery of short courses, micro-credentials and stackable degrees.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

You will be responsible for leading the research and development of the university’s framework of academic policies and regulations to govern extended learning provision, which establish the university’s expectations, obligations and procedures for use by staff and learners across the university.
You will work closely with colleagues in the Quality Assurance Team as well as those across Registry, the Institute of Extended Learning, academic departments and Student Union officers. Working collaboratively with colleagues in Student Administration, you will support the development of systems to enhance data sharing with Registry colleagues and to staff in departments offering extended learning provision.
You will analyse data taken from internal quality assurance procedures for extended learning programmes and modules, and provide recommendations for action to members of senior university committees.
There will be tight timescales and competing deadlines for the work you will be undertaking, so attention to detail, good communication and an ability to work efficiently and flexibly will be key to succeeding in the role.
