Description:

We are looking for candidates with the following attributes:
- A minimum of an honour’s degree with a research component, in psychology or a related science discipline. A postgraduate research qualification is preferred.
- Excellent time management, self-direction, independence and strong organisational skills.
- Strong academic writing skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including written and spoken communication.
- Accurate record-keeping and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
A part-time, fixed term Assistant Research Fellow position is now available to provide research support for a project examining the feasibility of a testing protocol looking at the effects of psilocybin on mood changes in response to brief psychological input.
The project is funded by a James Hume Bequest Fund and is an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality research assistance to Dr Valerie Tan.
Key tasks will include:
- Assisting in preparing the ethics application for the research project.
- Leading the recruitment process for research participants.
- Training research students on interview protocols and data scoring methods.
- Setting up experiments and monitoring participants’ physical and emotional states.
- Conducting interviews with students, both face-to-face and via Zoom, during data collection.
- Quantitatively score responses and enter data.
- Record keeping, responding to queries, follow-up with participants, archiving, and sending feedback at the study’s conclusion.
- Supporting the preparation of publications resulting from the project.
- Conducting literature searches and manage references.
