Job Introduction Motus Truck & Van have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated Assistant Service Manager to join their fabulous team in Ipswich.
As an Assistant Service Manager one of your responsibilities is to ensure the efficient operation of the service team, to meet and exceed customer expectations and maximise department profitability.
Motus Truck & Van is one of the largest Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicle dealerships in the UK. With sites across East Anglia, Hertfordshire & Essex, our facilities are staffed by experienced professionals who specialise in providing support to businesses of all shapes and sizes.
Not only can we supply new and used trucks and vans, we also offer an array of aftersales services, including overnight vehicle servicing and MOTs, tacho calibration, genuine parts and much more.

What will you be doing?

  • Responsible for the supervision of the service team and dealing on a day-to-day basis with customers
  • To properly supervise the service team and to develop the service team to achieve the highest possible levels of performance
  • To monitor workshop loading and ensure continuity
  • To receive customers and their vehicles in a friendly and professional manner, discuss and confirm their requirements and take responsibility for the vehicle during its time at the Retailer.
  • To monitor and reduce WIP.
  • To supervise the flow of work for their team into the workshop, allocating work as required and maximising the use of available resources.
  • To ensure that collection and delivery drivers operate to schedule and meet customer and workshop expectations.
  • To ensure that repair orders are raised and processed according to the established guidelines and that work is completed to schedule and recorded on VHC
  • To ensure that requested work is completed on time and to the expected standards.
  • To ensure all compliance is up to date.
  • To keep customers fully and regularly informed of changes to costs and expected completion times/dates.
  • To ensure that vehicles are properly handed over to customers, including invoice explanation and advising future requirements.
  • To Resolve invoice queries.
  • To maintain high standards of housekeeping within the workshop and maintain a safe working environment

Hours & Salary:Monday – Friday, 08:30am until 18:00pmYou will be required to work 1 in 5 Saturdays from 07:00am until 13:00pm (Included in your salary)Salary: £35,000 - £38,000 per annum plus company bonus
