We invite applications for the position of Assistant Food Store Manager to join our Food Division Team at our Orchards Food Store located in Edmonton, Alberta . We are looking for an individual that has had success in leading a retail team to pursue a career with our Association!

WHO YOU ARE:
You are looking for a career in Retail Store Operations and:
- Post-secondary education is an asset
- 1+ years Retail Food Leadership experience
- Minimum 3 years Retail Food experience
- Willingness to relocate to any of NCC locations
- Food Safety Certificate
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office programs (word/excel)
- Merchandising knowledge
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the day-to-day execution of tasks and may be involved in the planning for the direction of store. Achieve budgeted goals related to sales, margin, expenses, and inventory and execute sales strategies that support NCC’s vision. Achieve established objectives in terms of brand, service levels, quality, and timeliness of delivery and identify areas for improvement. Recruit, train, develop, coach, and motivate the department team while fostering a positive work environment that enables the engagement of all team members in the pursuit of desired results.
- Responsible for executing daily tasks to ensure the efficient operation of the store
- Build and maintain a strong mutually respective relationship with the team
- Assist the Store Manager in communicating operational requirements, operational changes, and translate the vision into initiatives
- Provide recommendations and supports internal pricing, promotion and product policies in response to local market needs and competition
- Promote and ensures adherence to brand and merchandising standards, marketing efforts, and image standards
- Ensures all applicable company policies and procedures are communicated and adhered to and ensure safety and regulatory requirements and procedures are implemented and maintained
- Complete store inspections and maintain a professional, welcoming image within the community
- Provide leadership including goal setting, performance management, training and development of team members through positive engagement
- Assist with budgets and help ensure claims, invoices and all other reporting is completed in a timely, accurate manner
- Ensure proper management of assets and adherence to a maintenance schedule, maintaining all equipment for the safe and efficient operation, scheduling repairs as required
- Ensures prompt, efficient, and friendly customer service is provided at all times while maintaining positive relationships with vendors, members and customers
