Assistant Engineering Superintendent
Permanent / Full time 37.5 hours per week, Monday- Friday 07:30 to 15:30
On site in Portsmouth Naval Base

Serco have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Engineering Superintendent to join their existing team based in Portsmouth. The purpose of the role is to assist the engineering superintendents with responsibility for the technical management, maintenance, and compliance of assigned vessels within the CPMS Contract and in Future NG contract. This will be a fixed term contract for 12 months.

FINANCIAL:

The role will report to and support the Technical Manager and Contract Manager in the financial management of assigned vessels and equipment.
Monitoring and control of expenditure for assigned vessels and equipment against delegated budgets and timely reporting of anticipated variances.
Approval of requisitions for goods and services within limits of authority.
Seeking best value for expenditure at all times.
Seeking and promoting opportunities for efficiencies without detriment to safety or levels of service.

Responsibilities:

Qualified to EOOW Unlimited Certificate of Competency level and HND in an Engineering discipline. RN equivalent qualifications will be considered based on experience and level of qualifications.
Understanding of ISM and Workboat Codes and ISO 9000.
Knowledge and experience of computer based planned maintenance systems.
Financially literate.
Knowledge and experience of Class and Flag Authority regulations.
Experience and competence with IT systems and office applications.
Relevant sea-going experience in the commercial marine industry, or with the Royal Navy.
In depth knowledge and experience of engineering and technical best practice and processes.
Full UK drivers’ licence.
Ability to meet MOD security clearance criteria.
