JOB SUMMARY:

You will be responsible for the growth strategy of the book of Accident & Health business for Singapore domiciled risks, as well as inward facultative placements across Asia Pacific, in accordance with projected profitability, premium target, and expense goals. This role will also involve administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, as well as complying with insurance laws and regulations, rating rules and models.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENT:

  • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in Accident & Health insurance
  • Capable of underwriting complex A&H cases independently
  • Experience in developing business opportunities through intermediaries
  • Experience in product development in A&H and Personal Lines
  • Possesses strong relationship building, interpersonal and communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the ambitious and profitable growth of the Accident & Health book, and developing the accompanying growth strategy
  • Responsible for product development and working with distribution channels to develop Accident & Health business
  • Accountable for growth and leadership of the Singapore A&H underwriting team
  • Performing technical underwriting of Accident & Health products across a range of risk sizes, within the authorized framework
  • Assisting in streamlining internal processes, policy administration, premium collection and automation initiatives
  • Generating various types of reporting to monitor the portfolio in different segments and under various metrics
  • Supervising the booking of risks across different accounts, and supporting credit control activities whenever it is necessary
  • Providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues to address technical referrals, and raise standards and expertise across the technical community
  • Managing customer interactions in an efficient, courteous and timely manner, in order to deliver high standards of customer satisfaction
