Description:

Atlanta Technical College (ATC) is seeking highly qualified applicants for its Assistant Vice President of Secondary Initiatives position in the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. This position will be located at Atlanta Technical College’s main and south campus.

The Assistant Vice President of Secondary Initiatives will report to the Executive Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs and will be responsible for the following job duties which include, but may not be limited to:

  • Assists in the planning and organizing of the unit’s work to meet objectives;
  • Manages budget and expenditures for the unit;
  • Develops and maintains internal control structures for assigned functions;
  • Monitors progress and productivity of assigned staff;
  • Reviews operations for efficiency and compliance with applicable regulations and standards;
  • Participates in strategic planning;
  • Performs research and analysis for special projects;
  • Directs the services of contractors by overseeing vendor operations;
  • Coordinates departmental activities with federal, state and local agencies;
  • Serves on various boards and committees as needed;
  • Assists with the compilation of quarterly and annual reports;
  • Reviews relevant data and alerts vice president of trends and recommended actions;
  • Manages the development of publications for department;
  • Assists community leaders in the recruitment of new businesses and the expansion of existing businesses within the service area;
  • Develops and maintains systems relevant to area of responsibility;
  • Assists with the design and execution of special events, projects and activities;
  • Serves in place of vice president as needed;
  • Manages the development and implementation of career and technical pathways for dual enrollment, career plus high school, dual achievement, career academy, and accelerated career option programs;
  • Coordinates the tracking of data for dual enrollment, career plus high school, dual achievement, career academy, and accelerated career option programs enrollees and graduates for completion/graduation from the technical college;
  • Serves as primary point of contact for and collaborates with high school administrators, counselors, and staff to promote Career and Technical Education, dual enrollment, etc. between high schools within the service delivery area and the college;
  • Maintains up-to-date written procedures for dual enrollment, career plus high school, dual achievement, career academy, and accelerated career option programs enrollment;
  • Coordinates with appropriate high school management and college management to finalize dual enrollment and articulation agreements within service delivery area;
  • Coordinates with all appropriate personnel at the College and high schools in service delivery area regarding the registration and withdrawal of students in dual enrollment program;
  • Ensures information is provided to potential students and their parents on dual enrollment program offerings at the college to ensure they have adequate information to make informed decisions;
  • Coordinates with College and high school personnel on placement and articulation testing and credit for dual enrollment and career academy students;
  • Coordinates with College and high school personnel regarding placement testing, admissions, and financial aid to ensure seamless enrollment of dual enrollment students to college;
  • Serves as the point of contact for high school personnel to address concerns or issues;
  • Oversees text books for dual-enrolled students; to include coordinating book orders with campus bookstore and ensuring student accounts remain accurate, and delivering text books for dual-enrolled students;
  • Serves as liaison with educational, industrial, and community partners to encourage cooperation and partnerships for dual enrollment within service delivery area;
  • Coordinates efforts with Communications, Marketing, and PR Office to provide information on dual enrollment opportunities within service delivery area;

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field and Five (5) years of related work experience
