Responsibilities:
MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
Responsible for supporting the Governance and Change Lead with:
- Ensuring all documentation related to operational resilience is updated in line with governance and regulatory requirements
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with key stakeholder across MUFG to ensure collaborative approach to reporting is achieved
- To track and report deliverables, risks and issues through the lifecycle Facilitating workshops with technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive agreement on requirements and delivery.
- Understands complex data mapping projects linking new and established data sources to reporting & dashboarding.
- Lead in establishing solutions with stakeholders to any issues raised through various forums, meetings etc .
- Creating PowerPoint presentations for various forums and committees
- Writing minutes on the back of forums and committees
- Ensuring adherence to governance activities
- Data quality gap identification and remediation across the operational resilience data requirements.
- Management of change activities that could materially impact an Important Business Service (IBS) or Critical or Important function
The role will work closely with the Operational Resilience Governance and Change Lead to develop a strong capability in the first line of defence, defining and delivering sustainable and practical solutions for the management of operational resilience, Crisis Management Response and Business Continuity Management activities.
The role holder will need knowledge of the FCA/PRA Operational Resilience Policy Statements (March 2021), as well as the DORA EU regulations and will gain experience working in a team ultimately responsible for successfully establishing Operational Resilience frameworks and capabilities within the organisation.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for supporting the Governance and Change Management Lead on developing, embedding and managing the Operational Resilience framework tools and methodologies in line with regulatory requirements to enable the achievement of MUFG’s strategic objectives. Specific responsibilities include:
- Supporting all tasks to promote awareness and understanding of Operational Resilience across the firm, supporting communications and training campaigns across all levels.
- Build on and maintain strong collaborative relationships across three lines of defence with key stakeholders, helping the SMF24, Service Owners and Resource Owners perform their duties in line with regulatory expectations.
- Establish and manage the process to monitor the resilience of important business services (IBS’s), Critical Important Functions (CIF’s) and their supporting resources/critical assets:
- Manage metrics to monitor resilience of IBS’ and CIF’s;
- Coordinate activity to assess resilience of critical resources/assets
- Establish and produce informative PowerPoint slide to provide reports to stakeholders and senior management
- Support process to assess vulnerabilities, and define and deliver remedial actions:
- Support the business areas with tracking weaknesses and vulnerabilities in resilience;
- Track delivery of actions and review evidence of gap closure.
- Participate in establishing and managing the creation the Regulatory Self-Assessment:
- Support with the creation of the annual regulatory self-assessment;
- Coordinate internal governance and approval (incl. Board approval).
- Take a lead role in coordinating the governance of Operational Resilience, preparing papers for relevant committees and ensuring issues are escalated appropriately.
- Support One MUFG’s delivery in the EMEA region in line with regulatory and Head Office requirements to achievement of MUFG’s strategic objectives.
WHERE REQUIRED, THE ROLE HOLDER WILL ALSO:
- Support the Head of Operational Resilience with the Operational Resilience Committee, Focus and Working Groups.
- Contribute to the Operational Resilience team’s performance, ensuring compliance with the organisations governance policies and procedures.
- Support compliance to the operational resilience framework across London (and within the EMEA region) to a level expected by our local regulators and at a level in line with our peers, including the update of relevant procedures and policies.
- identify/escalate appropriate actions to improve the overall reporting for the function.
- Build close and continuous relationships with key individuals within the First, Second and Third Lines, and ensure their operational resilience weaknesses and concerns are addressed proactively.
- Support and enhance staff training as required.
- Provide regular updates on progress under the operational Resilience framework and other key forums/committees.
- Contribute to the operational resilience governance for business activity to influence business strategy for the region and globally.
