About IBG Australia
IBG Australia is the primary client facing function of Australia Branch responsible for customer selection, credit assessment, transaction structuring, due diligence, onboarding and ongoing customer management and reviews in accordance with the Australia Branch strategies, business plans and policies.
Job Purpose
Support IBG Australia in building and maintaining the customer portfolio of DBS Australia including developing DBS’ franchise and market position within the Australia banking market.

Key Accountabilities

  • Support the Team Leader to establish and maintain relationships with large sophisticated Australian companies across Asia, working in conjunction with DBS offices in the respective Asian markets.
  • Manage a portfolio of clients and assist with identifying, uncovering, and expanding the depth of relationship.
  • Comply with DBS Head Office policies and procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist the branch to achieve ‘satisfactory’ rating on all audits by internal, external, and regulatory auditors
  • Ensure the ongoing integrity of customer data and KYC procedures are complied with at all times.
  • Contribute to achieving various financial targets (ie revenue, cross-sell, return on equity etc) assigned on an annual basis.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support Team Leader with the execution of financial solutions and service delivery by working closely with product specialists, industry teams, and relationship teams from across the DBS franchise.
  • Work independently on loan origination and execution, including the preparation of credit papers, marketing material and negotiation of facility documentation including ISDA’s.
  • Identify pertinent credit, compliance and execution risks relating to deal origination and relationship management and lead the resolution of the same.
  • Complete all supervision reviews and customer monitoring requirements in a timely manner.

Experience

  • At least 3 years of institutional banking experience, and ideally with a track record of business origination, credit preparation and sales execution in a front office function.

Education / Preferred Qualifications

  • Candidates should be pro-active, resourceful and results-orientated. They should be comfortable in a challenging, competitive, fast-paced and dynamic global working environment.
  • They should possess good business acumen, resilience, interpersonal & communication skills, with the patience and ability to resolve issues and achieve outcomes with customers and internal parties.
  • Good credit and analytical skills with a sound grasp of financial modelling preferred.
