Responsibilities:

ABOUT THE ROLE

We have an exciting career opportunity for an Assistant Village Manager to join our dedicated team at Dannemora Gardens in Botany, East Tamaki. Reporting to the Village Manager, you will have responsibility in assisting with all aspects of the village, including strategic planning, service delivery, finances and staff management. In addition to this, you will also be responsible for running the Wellness Centre to inform residents of the local availability, and process to access, home-based support services.
This role is working Thursday to Monday - 9am to 5pm, so you must be available to work every weekend.

SOME OF THE GREAT THINGS YOU WILL BE DOING

  • Demonstrate a respectful style of leadership that facilitates operational efficiency, profitability, appropriate people and management practices
  • Maintain appropriate and effective levels of communication and consultation with residents
  • Assist and support our Village Manager in developing business plans for service and product delivery
  • Assist in ensuring risk management is conducted in a professional and proactive manner in order to minimise any exposure
  • Supporting residents in the process of selecting suitable external home-based support service providers (personal cares or household support).
    About you

You are passionate about village operations and are people orientated having residents at the centre of your focus. Some things that will support your application:

  • Previous experience assisting or involvement in the operational management of a “people” business
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to build meaningful relationships with residents, staff and internal/external customers
  • Strong organisational skills
  • Excellent financial acumen, including sales focus and P&L ownership
  • Strategic planning experience to be able to contribute to the big picture, but equally able to look outside the industry to innovate
  • Previous contractor management (such as gardeners, F&B, trades, 3rd party providers) would be advantageous
  • Previous experience in the retirement village sector would also be advantageous
