COMMUNICATIONS AND KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT
- Develop and execute a comprehensive approach to communications and knowledge management that enhances CHISU’s visibility and influence in the global health community, in alignment with CHISU’s Knowledge Management Plan and Activity Monitoring and Evaluation and Learning Plan.
- Oversee the production of high-quality communication materials and program deliverables, that effectively convey CHISU’s achievements and lessons learned
- Ensure compliance with, and reporting on, the CHISU program’s Knowledge Management Plan as well as the Branding and Marking Plan.
- Lead efforts to document and disseminate best practices and innovations in HIS, ensuring that knowledge is shared widely among internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure efficient and effective facilitation of workshops, webinars, and other knowledge-sharing events to promote the exchange of ideas and experiences within and beyond the program.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in Public Health, International Development, Communications, Business Management or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in MEL and/or communications, and knowledge management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role required.
- Proven experience required in leading MEL, MERL, KM, MELK, CLA, MEAL, or similar functions within international development programs, preferably in the health sector.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders is required. Strong understanding of health information systems and digital health initiatives is preferred.
- Experience working on USAID, USG, and international donor-funded programs on MEL and/or CKM functions required Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of additional languages (particularly French and Spanish) is preferred.
Responsibilities:
BACKGROUND OF ROLE
CHISU aims to strengthen country health information systems (HIS), improve data use for decision-making, and enhance health outcomes. As CHISU continues to expand its impact, elevating Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) and Communications and Knowledge Management (CKM) functions has become essential to enhance program effectiveness and ensure achievements, results and learning are documented and shared both internally and externally. The Associate Director for Knowledge Management and Impact (KMI) will strengthen coordination across MEL and CKM and assist the Deputy Program Director - Technical to formalize the Produce, Package, Publish Unit, also known as 3PU, to enhance program effectiveness and visibility for CHISU.
PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
The Associate Director will elevate how programmatic information is elicited, curated, packaged and shared. They will oversee and provide strategic guidance to the Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning, and Communications and Knowledge Management functions within the CHISU program and directly supervise the two team leads. This senior role involves designing and leading strategic initiatives to improve data-driven decision-making, internal and external communications, and knowledge sharing across the CHISU consortium of partners. The Associate Director will ensure that KMI efforts (internally referred to as the Produce, Package, Publish Unit, or 3PU) are aligned with CHISU’s strategic objectives and that the program’s impact is effectively communicated to stakeholders.
The salary range for this role is $108,917-$191,083 based on location. Skills and experience will determine placement within each GeoZone grade.
