Position Overview
The APAC credit team focusses on private corporate credit, structured corporate credit (including securitisation), leverage and acquisition finance, and opportunistic situations. The core local credit team consists of two credit professionals (MD and Principal), but you will also support a broader team across real estate, asset backed finance, and client specialists. The team has a support analyst based in India.
An Associate in Apollo’s APAC Credit team will assist with preparation of business presentations, materials for investment committees, portfolio reviews, and client pitchbooks. The key objective is to support the Principal and MD originate and structure new transactions that grow the platform. The candidate will be responsible for detailed financial modelling, credit and industry due diligence, generating and updating credit memos on new and existing investments.
Ideal candidates should have three or more years of relevant experience working in finance on the buy side or sell side. They must possess strong analytic, quantitative, time management, and communication skills, and an ability to work in a small team with high expectations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Conducting company and industry specific due diligence, including coordinating global sector analysts
  • Analysis of financial statements, financial modelling and valuation support, including comparable analysis
  • Assist preparation of legal/tax/accounting and rating agency elements, including maintaining currency of rating agency methodologies and developments
  • Preparation of decks for: screening and investment committee, clients, credit monitoring
  • Maintain call reports, pipeline files, and generate CRM reports and presentations
  • Anticipate operational issues and seamlessly close transactions. Collaborate with PE, Real Estate, Infra, and other teams within the broader Apollo platform
  • Successful candidates may also be required to perform ad-hoc tasks not related to live opportunities, including vetting of new initiatives, and any requirement of sound business administration
  • Candidates should expect to work at hours that are applicable to Apollo’s global footprint

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required in Accountancy/Finance/Business or equivalent
  • 3-5 years of sell side/buy side experience with strong analytical skills of financial statements, ideally in two or three different economic sectors and/or regions
  • High PowerPoint and Excel proficiency, with an ability to independently model detailed transactions. Use of Bloomberg, CapIQ and related market data systems essential
  • Fundamental knowledge of capital markets, accounting, and valuation
  • Resilient, engaging, and personable with strong communication skills. Must be able to function in a small, nimble team
  • Self-motivated and task oriented, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Effective written and oral English communications skills
