Our office located in Lincoln, RI is seeking an Appraiser-ADERP. This position will perform the administrative duties of an Appraiser while consistently meeting production standards as defined within. Capable of handling a variety of automobile appraisal reviews, re-writes and electronic re-inspections of varying complexity with minimal supervision. Conduct electronic re-inspections for quality control and perform various other duties as prescribed by the APD Supervisor, Regional APD Manager or APD Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent education required
  • 1-2 years of industry experience.
  • Basic working knowledge of automobile body and mechanical repair practices, techniques and costs.
  • APD experience and familiarity with company established appraisal workflow and APD Best Practices.
  • Proficiency in use of automobile damage estimating manuals, computerized appraisal workflow, total loss and auditing systems used by Amica and its business partners.
  • Complete familiarity with State Appraisal Licensing Law.
  • Where applicable, obtain and maintain state required licensing. This may include Appraiser and/or Adjuster Licensing.
  • Maintain various designations and certifications in the appraisal field.
  • Good, analytical, communication and negotiation skills.
  • Functional knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Complete required I-CAR Training.

Responsibilities:

  • Establish fair and reasonable automobile repair costs by preparing accurate, legibly written desk appraisals and desk re-inspection through the use of manuals and/or computerized appraisal systems, application of sound repair practices, application of betterment, separation of non-related damage.
  • Consistently exceed minimum standards relative to productivity and cycle time.
  • When necessary, establish actual cash value of total losses, and determine accurate salvage values.
  • Keep abreast of motor vehicle design changes and repair solutions and maintain a high level of awareness of technical advancements by continuing technical education.
  • Maintain strong open lines of communication with the APD Supervisor, Regional APD Manager, APD Manager, branch employees and third party vendors.
  • Assist in CAT assignment and estimate review process.
  • May be called upon to handle other duties as required.
