PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Loan Documentations Review: Accurately reviews and interprets loan documentation ensuring all reporting, collections, and borrower representations are correct, achieving a 100% compliance rate.
  • Proactive Loan Monitoring: Provides proactive monitoring of loans to ensure borrowers remain compliant with the terms, conditions, covenants, milestones, and reporting requirements contained in the executed loan documents.
  • Relationship Management: Establishes and maintains strong relationships with borrowers, facilitating timely communication and ensuring that reporting packages and updates are received and analyzed as needed.
  • Draw Request Review: Reviews borrower draw requests and project monitor reports, making informed recommendations for construction/development loan advances in accordance with loan agreements and Trez’s policies and procedures.
  • Risk Management & Reporting: Conducts thorough risk assessments at each loan stage, reporting on performance and activity related to loan agreements and collateral, and recommending proactive measures to mitigate potential risks.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree, with a specialization in Real Estate, Construction, Engineering, Finance or a related filed, or equivalent qualifications.

  • 1-3 years of related work experience in finance, funding, commercial lending or real estate asset management, with a preference for experience in Canadian or US Markets
  • CFA, CAIA, or similar industry certification preferred.

Responsibilities:

The Associate, Asset Management (Commercial Real Estate Debt) is responsible for proactively monitoring performance and conducting loan surveillance from loan funding through to repayment for a portfolio of Canadian and US commercial real estate construction, income and land loans.
