POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Athletics Director for Athletics for External Relations serves as a member of the Athletic Department’s leadership team committed to educational and competitive excellence.
This position also provides leadership and oversight for La Salle University’s Athletics revenue generation, marketing functions, gameday experiences, communications, and other external affairs. The Associate Athletic Director for External Relations is responsible for revenue generating operations and growth through tickets sales, partnerships, licensing and merchandise. This position oversees and manages the implementation of strategic marketing plans focused on increasing attendance, as well as develop and enhance the fan experience through game scripting, production and experiences. Responsible for the day-to-day operations, the Associate Athletic Director provides direction and vision to the Marketing, Revenue, Digital Media, Digital Media, Athletic Communications, and Name Image and Likeness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a public relations practitioner
  • Knowledge and experience in NCAA rules and compliance is required.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of La Salle University.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Preferred candidates will possess excellent communication skills, demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population, experience in creating and implementing personal and professional development opportunities for coaches and student-athletes.
  • Experience working in senior-level office management role

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR UNUSUAL WORK HOURS

  • Travel and off-peak hours required (i.e., attend on-campus and off-campus athletic events, department events, donor functions)

Responsibilities:

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Serves on NCAA, Atlantic 10 Conference, University and department committees as assigned.
  • Supervise the nomination and follow-up of all student-athletes and coaches honors and awards (All-Al0, All-American, All-Region, etc.).
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
