Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled mid-level Associate Attorney to join our growing team in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in contract law and corporate law and, ideally, experience in international mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree from a recognized Nigerian university.
  • Successful completion of the Nigerian Law School Bar Final Examinations.
  • 5 years of relevant experience in contract law and corporate law.
  • Experience in international M&A is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of Nigerian corporate law and regulatory framework.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including but not limited to: sales agreements, service agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and joint venture agreements.
  • Advise clients on corporate governance matters, including company formation, compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues related to contract law, corporate law, and M&A.
  • Assist in due diligence processes for M&A transactions.
  • Support senior attorneys in all aspects of M&A transactions, including deal structuring, negotiation, and closing.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, as needed.
  • Stay up-to-date on current legal developments and best practices in relevant areas of law.
  • Manage client relationships effectively and provide exceptional client service.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
