Position Summary
This position offers an excellent opportunity to collaborate with business partners, product/platform owners, and subject matter experts to solve complex business problems and deliver value to MPC. This role is vital to the support, development and enhancement of Finance systems and processes. It will also ensure solutions are reliable, secure, and aligned with enterprise technologies. Responsibilities include driving critical projects, delivering value-added enhancements, gathering and documenting business requirements, and coordinating user testing. The role may involve process documentation, system configuration & integrations, and report design. A major opportunity with this role is learning and supporting the functionality of applications across the Corporate Functions organization to allow for effective planning of future value-add work. Possible efforts could include: Data products, Financial reporting, Planning and Forecasting, Performance analysis.
This position belongs to a family of jobs with increasing responsibility, competency, and skill level. Actual position title and pay grade will be based on the selected candidate’s experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assists in the definition of business processes to measure, analyze, improve and control the process being reviewed.
  • Works closely with the business and development teams to gain an understanding of business partners functional and non-functional requirements, provide feedback, and communicate changes.
  • Analyzes and documents business and user requirements, creating documentation of functional requirements specifications.
  • Applies understanding of systems and technologies to draft recommendations for appropriate systems alternatives and/or enhancements to current systems.
  • Assists with the continuous iterative exploration and investigation of business performance and other measures to gain insight and drive business planning.
  • Understands and assists in cost-benefit analyses for proposed systems to aid management in making implementation decisions.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and document knowledge for Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Understands and executes the basic IT service management practices around incident, Change, Problem and Solution Development Lifecycle (SDLC) delivery methodologies including basic configuration tasks.
  • Assists in the analysis of test case development and execution in support of technology delivery.
  • Assists in the planning, conducting and documenting of user stories, user feedback, supporting development of prototypes and wireframes.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, related field or equivalent experience.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience

Requirements Management - The process of documenting, analyzing, tracing, prioritizing and agreeing on requirements and then controlling change while also communicating to relevant stakeholders.
