WHAT YOU BRING:

  • A curious mentality and positive, self-motivated demeanor.
  • Post-secondary education or equivalent experience
  • 1+ years in a procurement, supply chain or retail merchandising role.
  • Confident, with an ability to prioritize many projects at the same time and collaborate with cross-functional collaborators.
  • Financial, business and retail knowledge.
  • Strong relationship-management skills and a winsome communication style.
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities:

WHY IS THIS ROLE IMPORTANT :

As an Associate Buyer, you’ll join Loblaw’s Business Enablement & Enterprise Procurement (BEEP) Team, a group of world-class procurement professions accountable for purchasing goods on behalf of our retail divisions which represent more than 3,000 stores from coast to coast
Reporting to our , you’ll work alongside the Buyer(s) to support every aspect of category procurement including domestic and offshore sourcing, vendor relationship and performance management, RFPs, costing, supply risk management, quality management, vendor onboarding and much more.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Support the Director and Buyer(s) with vendor performance management, generating data, conducting analysis, and preparing presentation material.
  • Maintain all system data for the category, ensuring we have end-to-end accuracy in all aspects of our Seafood product portfolio, including vendor costing.
  • Facilitate vendor onboarding activities and provide administrative ownership of new product creation in collaboration with our Vendor Onboarding and Data Operations teams.
  • Collaborate with our supply chain, merchandising, private label, and international sourcing teams to resolve product availability and fulfilment challenges.
  • Support the Director and Buyer(s) with other ad-hoc administrative activities as assigned.
  • Proudly represent the Seafood category with the BEEP Team.
