Description:
TECHNICAL SKILLS AND EXPERTISE
- Some experience of working with third sector organisations or a strong interest in the sector is expected.
- The role would suit someone 0-2 years post-qualification, but we are open to applications from anyone with a genuine interest, including people with relevant in-house experience, and people who have come to law as a second career. All lawyers in our team are given support to develop their career and are involved in shaping department strategy.
Responsibilities:
We are looking for an associate (0-2 years PQE) to join Russell-Cooke’s Charity and Social Business team, providing support exclusively to not-for-profit organisations. The team of 16 lawyers is one of the leading charity practices, highly rated by both Legal 500 and Chambers. Our clients include some of the most prominent fundraising charities as well as medium-sized and start-up charities, individual philanthropists and corporate foundations.
The work would be varied and would suit someone with commercial property experience who is enthusiastic about developing new areas of expertise and working within the charity sector.
The role is for a junior solicitor to work on a wide range of commercial property matters for charity and social business clients. This is an opportunity to take on a broad and varied role which will include freehold and leasehold disposals and acquisitions, portfolio management work, support of corporate transactions such as mergers and incorporations, and advise on technical charity property issues. Specific experience advising charities is not a prerequisite, but a real interest in the charity sector and a willingness to learn and engage in business development is essential.
The role is based in Putney, London with the opportunity to work from our Holborn office.
