Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Associate Chief Medical Officer (ACMO) serves to carry out the responsibilities of the CMO by assignment as designated by the CMO, or on a pro tempore basis. Assignments formally designated, for which there is administrative responsibility and program oversight within Medical Affairs at the organization may include: regulatory affairs; accreditation; and acquisition and deployment of physician resources via contractual agreements. Other responsibilities may include: strategic planning; quality oversight and initiatives; program development and implementation; and engagement of senior leadership for the achievement of institutional and program goals.

REQUIRED MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES (KSAS)

  • Education: Medical Degree required.
  • License/Certifications: Active medical licensure or eligibility for medical licensure in State of New Hampshire; Board Certification in primary area of practice.
  • Experience: Minimum of seven years of increasing responsibility as a physician leader.
  • Institutional experience within a complex healthcare organization.
  • Understanding of regulatory compliance, healthcare finance, strategic planning, and institutional process.
  • Demonstrated characteristics of fairness, integrity, and accountability.
  • Excellent communication and physician engagement skills based on trust and shared values.
  • Collaboration and professional interactions with all team members.
  • Maintains a physician identity and continuum of clinical practice.
  • Demonstrates the highest levels of ethical and professional conduct.
  • Ensures all professional interactions and decision making are centered on the needs of the patient.
