Purpose: The role will fully support Claims Advocates in providing high-quality claims services to clients and markets, ensuring that Key Client Outcomes are delivered to agreed service standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day to day claims support to Financial Lines team, ensuring that claims are handled effectively and commercially whilst seeking the best outcome for our clients.
  • Dealing with all aspects of D&O, cyber, professional indemnity and M&A claims
  • Monitoring and influencing key client outcomes relating to claims agreement and settlement
  • Preparation of clear claims notifications to the market, both directly and through ECF
  • Log and report accurate claims information, including claims trends
  • Monitor, track and update ongoing claims
  • Ensure sufficient detail/documentation is provided to validate policy coverage
  • Act in the best interests of the client/integrity of the market
  • Foster effective market relationships
  • Coordinate interests of a variety of stakeholders, including client, insurers, lawyers and other representatives in order to effect best outcome for client
  • Where appropriate, assist with wording reviews or thought leadership
  • Identify key areas in the claims process where risk is identified and take mitigating actions to limit exposure to E&O
  • Build strong networks internally with colleagues across the different specialties
  • Carry out projects and other duties and tasks as may from time to time be required.
  • Act in line with the McGill and Partners Strengths.
  • Actively understand and comply with McGill and Partners regulatory, risk management framework and operational requirements.

Skills & Experience:

  • 3-4 years Financial Lines claims experience (D&O, PI, cyber)
  • In depth knowledge of ECF/CLASS/London market claims systems and processes
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Agility and aptitude to work in a fast evolving, regulated environment.
  • Focussed on customer service and client relationships
  • Enthusiastic team player with the ability to develop and manage relationships
  • Planning, organisational skills and self-motivation – ability to adapt and prioritise own workload
  • Attention to detail and ability to work across stakeholder groups.
  • Diligence and ability to work to strict deadlines within a pressurised environment
  • Technically able to learn new systems quickly and have a good understanding of Microsoft suite: Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Additional Operational Responsibilities for Limited Timeframe:

  • Provide day to day operational support to the Financial Lines Team, including ensuring that all client needs and requirements from an administrative perspective are handled in a timely, technically accurate and compliant manner
  • Assist Client Advocates/Managers in the quality control of slips, endorsements and support in resolving and processing queries
  • Monitor and seek agreement of slips and endorsements via the London Market’s electronic placing platform as well as White Space
