Description:
The Electronic Assistive Technology Service Wales (EAT) provides a holistic assessment, trials, long term loan and maintenance service that aims to enhance our patients’ independence, mobility and ability to communicate. The EAT service is made up of four services, but to a large extent operates as a single entity with a common referral pathway, triage and treatment regimen. The Service is provided by a range of registered healthcare professionals that include Clinical Scientists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Clinical Technologists, supported by unregistered support staff e.g. Administrators, Technical Instructors and hopefully soon - by you as the Associate Clinical Technologist.
We are looking for a skilled Service Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for service and maintenance of issued EAT equipment, as well as for assessing and assembling of bespoke wheelchair mounting systems for the above equipment.

This clinical technologist will perform work that is routine and planned, and whilst carrying out their duties will usually be able to call on the support of more senior colleagues.
Responsibilities:
To provide electronic assistive technology services, particularly with regard to the preparation, provision and maintenance, to meet the complex needs of severely impaired clients .
To assess the needs and develop, fabricate and evaluate specialist devices to meet the complex needs of severely impaired clients at the direction of a State Registered Clinical Scientist, and in collaboration with clinical specialists.
To support the EAT Technical and Clinical Staff by preparing EAT equipment and assist at installation appointments.
To deliver, repair, adjust, collect and recondition EAT equipment.
To carry out administrative functions to support the clinical and technical professionals, that will include necessary administration, acceptance checks, loading and unloading equipment, decontamination of equipment, resetting and reprogramming of EAT equipment, and checking the equipment prior to restocking.
To undertake visits to the homes of clients across Wales and will therefore need to hold a full driving license and be aware of lone worker issues. T ransport will be provided or approved mileage will be paid where appropriate.
The post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary team providing scientific, engineering and clinical services.
