The Opportunity
Due to continuing growth within the organisation and new project wins across the buildings and infrastructure sectors, we are seeking to expand our Construction Engineering team. You will be working with a high performing, service-oriented and collaborative team.
Construction engineering is a broad field, and our suite of offered services is testament to our depth of knowledge and expertise. We offer design and consulting services in construction staging, temporary works, logistics, plant and equipment and virtual design and construction. The Construction Engineering team has structural engineering focus, working closely with our in-house geotechnical and civil teams to deliver multi-disciplinary solutions to our clients.
This presents an opportunity for someone looking to further their career within a thriving engineering consultancy. as an Associate level engineer to join our London Office.
This is an exciting time for Robert Bird Group, as we go through expansion and have a growing portfolio of landmark buildings and infrastructure projects such as Olympia redevelopment, One Liverpool Street, Sydney Metro, HS2, One Leadenhall, One Waterloo development and many more.

Duties

  • Leading and reviewing structural engineering analysis and design of Temporary works
  • Permanent structures during construction phase
  • Leading projects and work packages from inception to delivery including managing resourcing and commercial performance
  • Leading the production of project deliverables including models, drawings and reports
  • Managing client relationships during the design and construction process
  • Developing and assessing construction sequencing proposals
  • Using tools to measure and actively reduce carbon impact on all our projects
  • Conducting site inspections of designed works
  • Assessment of existing structures
  • Mentoring and supporting the development of our junior staff
  • Assisting with team commercial and resource planning
  • Contributing to team and business work winning

Experience and Knowledge

  • BEng (Hons) or Meng (Hons)
  • Structural Engineering experience (temporary works experience welcome but not required)
  • Achieved Chartered status with IStructE, ICE or equivalent
