We are seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant with a demonstrable track record of delivering investment advisory work, ideally in the energy transition sector. The ideal candidate will have strong established relationships in the investment community and could be looking to take their career to the next level with a more strategic role responsible for winning work and growing LCP Delta’s offering in this area, or someone with a proven track record interested in cementing LCP Delta’s credentials in transaction advisory.
This role involves strategic engagement with fund managers, other target clients and key stakeholders to promote develop the sales, and potentially delivery, of our clean energy investment advisory services.
LCP DELTA’S CLEAN ENERGY INVESTMENT ADVISORY
We provide market-leading advice to our clients to enable investment in the energy transition.
- The core service that we provide is Commercial Due Diligence – sell-side and buy-side
- Our primary focus is late-stage investment, deals above ~ £25m
- Further services that we provide to investors include:
- market screening / feasibility studies, including investment target identification
- deal support, post-CDD
- strategy development for portfolio companies
- development of exit strategies for investors
- Our core clients are:
- fund managers seeking investments in the transition
- companies seeking investment to enable their growth
- major energy companies using corporate finance to invest in the transition
- Our primary focus is downstream (residential and C&I – commercial & industrial), distribution network, and flexibility related; typically related to the sector focus of LCP Delta (Energy transition). We collaborate with other teams in LCP Delta focused on upstream investment.
What skills, experience and qualities are we looking for?
- Some professional experience, internships included, with experience completing financial analysis, due diligence, or related activities, would be beneficial
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, ideally in Finance, Economics, Environmental, or related field or relevant equivalent experience
- Excellent communication, report writing and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- A keen interest in the low carbon transition and an understanding of investment principles is necessary
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and PowerPoint
- Organised and detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Dedicated and drive
Responsibilities:
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
We are seeking an Analyst or Associate Consultant to join our growing team to deliver clean energy investment advice to accelerate the energy transition. This role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their career, looking to deepen their expertise in commercial due diligence and energy finance. You will work closely with experienced analysts and managers to deliver high-quality due diligence reports and analyses that aid our clients in making strategic investment decisions.
This role will focus on delivering Commercial Due Diligence projects for our clients – working with team members to deliver buy-side advice for Fund Managers to determine whether an investment is right or sell-side advice for businesses so they can demonstrate their value to investors.
You will work on other projects covering feasibility studies, strategy development, and development of exit strategies for investors.
- Contribute to the delivery of buy-side and sell-side Commercial Due Diligence projects for clients, focusing on investments in the energy transition. You will take responsibility for defined aspects of the reports
- Support consultants to understand key market trends, competitive landscapes, business models, commercial drivers, regulatory landscapes, and risks associated to investments
- Contribute to detailed reports and presentations that summarise findings and recommendations, supporting in presenting these to clients
- Participate in client meetings and calls, providing support and documentation as needed
- Stay updated with the latest developments in the field of energy finance and the low carbon transition
- Help develop proposals for our clients in response to inbound queries
- Contribute to business development activities to grow the business
