POSITION SUMMARY:

Support the Director, Baggage Services to deliver a highly efficient, safe and secure baggage operation for Toronto Pearson passengers and airline customers that operate within the Terminal. Accountable for ensuring an efficient baggage flow that delivers on key performance targets that are critical to the success of Toronto Pearson and the airlines that serve our passengers. Leads the terminal specific Baggage Services team (internal staff and contractors) and is accountable to deliver a world class baggage service to the airlines and passengers.

Responsibilities:

  • Proven leadership skills and extensive stakeholder relationship experience, problem solving and analytical experience
  • Proven relationship management skills with internal and external partners
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, collaborate and negotiate cross functionally in a unionized environment, as well as with external partners to achieve results
  • Solid business acumen and improvement mentality to solution immediate issues, identify trends, provide recommendations, plans and implement corrective actions
  • Ability to successfully manage under pressure and respond to critical and or changing priorities throughout the day
  • Requires ability to learn and adapt quickly about business, goals and strategies
  • Ability to analyze data to establish trends and root cause analysis using tools such as Excel (MS Office suite)
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of complex mechanical systems that operate in a high stress environment
  • Demonstrate skills and experience developing and delivering presentations on highly technical information to a varied audience
  • Solid understanding of operations in a large airport
  • Established professional network of airport industry or similar stakeholders and customers
