This role is part of the Business Insights & Technology (BI&T) Supplier Management team. The BI&T Supplier Management team drives consistent service management across our supplier ecosystem to ensure value from external engagements. This role is part of the BI&T Supplier Management team and is responsible for the Consumption and Financial Management functions of the BI&T supplier framework.
This role’s primary focus is to ensure accurate and timely financial management for key BI&T delivery providers by maintaining controls and facilitating approval reviews. BI&T owns and improves provider consumption governance aiming to strengthen controls and streamline process. BI&T advises on the delivery provider finances through issue resolution, reporting, planning and analysis. This role is responsible for partnering with BI&T Leadership Team, Finance and Service Management stakeholders to promote transparency in the cost management process and reporting.
Detailed Position Responsibilities:
- Accountable and responsible for all financial aspects for BI&T enterprise vendor with global business.
- Ensure the accuracy, collection, issue management, and reporting of major provider consumption spend. Maintain and provide the budget, projections and monthly accrual processes related to key vendors’ activities.
- Advise executives and stakeholders on the financial impact of decisions, comparing them with budget and quarterly projections.
- Oversee management of purchase orders globally related to strategic BI&T suppliers’ contracts and budget including monitoring monthly invoices and timely follow-ups with global Account Payable teams for reconciling issues.
- Monitor project financials and operational insights related to key vendor to advise decision-making and identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Finance and Service delivery organization to foster transparency into costs, consumption, and demand.
- Support stakeholders regarding provider cost management processes and enterprise level reporting requirements.
- Developing into subject matter expert interfacing with suppliers and BMS stakeholders.
- Provide financial guidance and analysis for new BI&T partners, participate in selecting new providers, and manage the financial aspects of their integration.
- Assist with the financial integration efforts related to service providers or vendors during mergers and acquisitions.
Desired Experience:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Computer Science or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Industry Experience: 7+ years’ experience in BI&T and/or Finance preferably based at a bio/pharmaceutical company.
- Demonstrated strategic thinking, leadership, partnering, and energizing cross functional teams.
- Must have extensive experience in financial processes and internal controls, and how they apply to BI&T and the bio/pharmaceutical industry.
- Demonstrated competency of analyzing and defining business processes, using structured problem solving and available tools to quickly evaluate problems, identify root cause, create action plans, assess impact and develop resolution options.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, process knowledge and lateral thinking.
- Manages multiple sometimes conflicting priorities, challenges the status quo, and exercises diplomacy.
- Ability to navigate and thrive in a complex environment.
- Advanced MS Excel skills should include pivot tables, data merging, charting, pivot charts, data models, etc.
- Experience reporting on data from commercial tools; experience in ServiceNow and SAP is a plus.
- Excellent teamwork & interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and collaborate with employees & management at all levels. Strong facilitation & meeting management skills.
